“”The Twelve Tribes, a Christianfundamentalistcult born in the American South in the 1970s, is little-known to much of the country, and on first impression its communes and hippie-vibed restaurants and cafes can seem quaint and bucolic. But beneath the surface lies a tangle of doctrine that teaches its followers that slavery was “a marvelous opportunity” for black people, who are deemed by the Bible to be servants of whites, and that homosexuals deserve no less than death.

Are we sure Elbert Yoneq Spriggs is the way his name should be spelled? Did he officially/legally change his middle name? Zach (wv) (t)21:10, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

well, the official twelve tribes website [1] doesn't currently include any mention of the name Yoneq, only Elbert Eugene Spriggs, and sometimes "Gene". Other sources refer to him as "Yoneq" but not as a middle name, kind of as an entirely new name. But this may be a thing of the past since the twelve tribes website doesn't refer to him as such any more, or in fact refer to him at all except in a historical context. Maybe the page should be moved to Elbert Eugene Spriggs, and redirect from this page, and Yoneq. Kewp06:52, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and moved the page to Elbert Eugene Spriggs because it seems more correct.--Kewp(t)18:18, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No, this is not a copyright violation. All the information here is freely made available without copyright on Mr. Spriggs own website, www.TwelveTribes.org
