She passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren at Cooper Medical Center, Camden, NJ. She was 90 years old. Florence was born in Camden, NJ to the predeceased Dorsey and Mary Robinson on August 18, 1933. She attended Camden City Public Schools. Florence never remarried after the death of her husband Enoch Thomas Sr. in 1985. She is survived by her children, Norris “Butch” Thomas, Enoch “Tommy” Thomas Jr., Diane Almon (Dennis), Carol Mason (Roosevelt), Dr. Janet “Penny” Thomas, Janice “Pat” Thomas. Sister Shirley Washington. A host of grandchildren, great and great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a trained public speaker and was a lay speaker for Parkside United Methodist Church, Camden, NJ which she has been a member and usher for over 45 years. She enjoyed writing many speeches, lectures, and plays. Florence P. Menzler, 96, of Oxford, NJ passed away at her home on October 17, 2023. Florence was born on February 22, 1927 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Fred and Florence "Wendling" Schmidt. She grew up in Roselle Park, NJ before moving to Oxford in 2019. Her loving husband Fred Menzler passed away in 1979. Florence was employed by Dunkin Donuts for many years before her retirement. She loved an occasional Schaefer Beer and Blackberry Brandy, which she attributed to her long and healthy life. Florence is survived by her sisters Maryann Placiano and Dolores Bartlett and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service celebrating Florence's life will be held on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Hollywood Memorial Park and Cemetery in Union, NJ.
